Our Board

Valerie Mih

Executive Director/Founder

Executive Director Valerie Mih has developed STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) curricula and educational media for students of all ages for over 20 years. She holds an MFA in Animation from the University of Southern California, focusing on 3D animation, and a Bachelor of Arts from Stanford University in American Studies, focusing on culture and ethnicity. After working in the entertainment industry (including the films "A Bugs Life" and "Toy Story II"), she discovered a passion for producing educational media and innovative curriculum to serve the next generation. Believing that education is a human right, she founded Grow Mind Learning Institute to address the worldwide access and equity gap in STEM education.

Rebecca Mih

Ph.D., Board Member

Rebecca Mih holds a Ph.D. in Material Science from the University of California, Berkeley. She has guided innovation and development in chip lithography, lasers, and manufacturing for over 25 years. In addition, she has volunteered as an instructor for the FIRST Lego League Challenge, introducing children to robotics and engineering principles.

Franz Zach

Ph.D., Board Member

Franz Zach is an expert in chip lithography and software solutions for major manufacturers. He holds a Ph.D. in Applied Physics from the University of California, Berkeley. As an international researcher, he brings an international perspective and awareness to advising the educational efforts of the Institute.
